Oakwood Road is the place to be on Friday night. Session I curling begins in October. Draw times are at 6:30 and 8:30pm. Curlers in this league are strongly encouraged to take advantage of the club’s kitchen and share a meal or hors d’oeuvres before or after they take the ice and games are often shortened to 6 ends if the teams agree to elongated the time for broomstacking! League Chair: Michele Heinze
NEW FORMAT THIS YEAR! Open to male and female curlers, this league only hits the ice a few times as we work around Bonspiels and Club events,
- 3 players per team, 2 stones/end/player
- 6 ends, 3 ‘sets’ of 2 ends of play
- Rotating teams, the lead in set 1 moves to middle in set 2 and skip in set 3. All 3 players rotate each set
- With only 3 players, only 6 stones/team/end.
- 2 points for 1st set, 2 for 2nd, but 4 points for 3rd so 6 ends always played.
Quick games with rotating positions allows everyone to skip (and sweep). Great way to learn new skills!! League Chair: Larry Laux
This is an open drop in league. Teams are formed by who is there or bring you own team for a chance to play together. No stress just fun!
